Abbagoochie - FULL SET

The Abbagoochie is a cryptid creature reportedly native to Costa Rica. A small, aggressive predator, its appearance is said to resemble a cross between an owl, a fox, and a deer. Back in 1999-2001, a hoax circulated that claimed that the US government had introduced juvenile abbagoochies to West Virginia in order to cull predators like coyotes and rattlesnakes. However, according to other accounts, the creature had actually appeared in West Virginia in the early 90s, and many people have reported seeing it, some up close and in broad daylight. It's an odd case of something that could possibly have been a real creature being dismissed as a hoax because of one false account years after the original set of sightings. The mood I had in mind for the piece is somewhere along the lines of Revueltas' "Sensamaya" - dark, ominous, and strange.
